Happy Halloween!

Hey guys! So, I’ve finally become acquainted with the college workload and how to balance school, sorority, and going out. And I’ve even gotten around to going to the gym too! The Student Recreation Center is right across from my dorm and its pretty much brand new!

Anyways, Halloweekend was fun! I didn’t exactly dress up… you could say I was a cat 🙂

Alana and I getting ready for a Halloween party Saturday night

Eats from this week:

The Health Nut creation from The Cereal Boxx (a cute breakfast restaurant near campus) which has cereals, homemade granola, oatmeal, parfaits, wraps, waffles, panini’s, bagels, and protein shakes!

In the mix: KASHI Heart to Heart, Cinnamon LIFE, dried cranberries, raisins, almonds, and bananas! Mmm.

The toppings are unlimited, too.

To name a few: coconut, wheat germ, pie fillings, chocolate chips, marshmallows, peanut butter, yogurt, streusel, nutella, whip cream, and any type of fruit (fresh and dried) and nut! It’s INSANE 🙂 And it was a good post-workout breakfast. Carb+protein+fruit! Yay!

Quaker Old-Fashioned Oats with milk, cinnamon, sliced banana, and Justin’s Almond Butter.

And yes, I do keep a variety of Justin’s Almond Butter packets in my dorm room 🙂

Chicken Pesto Multigrain Flatbread from Fuel, the little cafe in the Rec Center. I love the combination of chicken, pesto, and cheese.

This had to have been one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. Lunch at AEphi today was Souper Salad Bar. There was corn chowder  and cheese and potato for the soup and a ginormous salad bar. There’s one every day, but this one was especially good. I loaded my salad with grilled chicken, black beans, mushrooms, carrots, cheese, slivered almonds, red peppers, dried apricots and cherries, and beets, which I’ve been addicted to lately. So good and so filling!

Believe it or not, making good food choices in college is doable. You just have to make sure you make conscious decisions and incorporate some form of exercise into your schedule. And make room for the occasional s’more, ice cream, cookie, or candy! After all, it is Halloween!

What is your favorite Halloween candy?

Mine’s a tie between Reeses and Take 5’s!
